The Tuition-Free Programs room
Wonderspring offers a variety of tuition-free programs at its centers including Pre-K Counts, PHLpreK and Early Head Start. These programs are funded to give children a strong start in learning, with no tuition cost to families.
In a tuition-free classroom, children learn through a balance of play, exploration, and guided activities. Teachers plan projects based on what children are curious about, so the study topics come from the children's own questions and interests. The rooms are set up with areas for language, literacy, arts, sciences, and athletics.
Children gain confidence and skills they will use in kindergarten and beyond. They learn to share, solve problems, and express ideas. Families can ask the center which tuition-free programs are available at their location and what is needed to enroll.

Tuition-Free Programs
Wonderspring offers several tuition-free programs across its centers. These include Pre-K Counts, PHLpreK, and Early Head Start. Each program is designed to give children access to high-quality early education and care at no cost to eligible families. Ask the center which programs are available at your location.
Pre-K Counts
Pre-K Counts is offered at Pottstown, Powelton Village, and New Market West. It provides free pre-kindergarten to eligible 3- and 4-year-olds until they enter kindergarten. It serves families earning up to 300 percent of the federal poverty level, including English language learners and children with special needs. Before- and after-school care has a charge; ELRC financial assistance may offset it for those who qualify.
PHLpreK
PHLpreK is offered at Powelton Village and New Market West. It provides free preschool and pre-kindergarten to Philadelphia residents ages 3 to 5. Before- and after-school care has a charge. Financial assistance through ELRC is available to help offset those costs for families who qualify. Ask the center for enrollment details.
Early Head Start
Early Head Start is offered at the Pottstown center. It provides free early education to infants and toddlers under age 3, plus child development and family support services. Eligibility is based on income at or below the federal poverty level. Children in foster care, children who are homeless, and children from families receiving TANF or SSI are eligible regardless of income. All Wonderspring tuition-free programs meet Keystone STAR 4 standards.
What this looks like in practice
A tuition-free day looks like any good preschool day. Children arrive, settle in, and start with free choice. Teachers read aloud, lead group activities, and sit with children at tables. There are blocks, books, art supplies, and outdoor time. Snacks and rest fit into the schedule. Parents get updates on what their child did and learned.
The practical benefit shows up at home. A child comes home with new words, a song, or a story about a project. They dress themselves, clean up, or ask questions about the world. You save on tuition and still get a classroom with trained teachers and a plan. For many families, that changes what the week looks like.
